- In which areas do you expect PostgreSQL to grow most and how does your company contribute to and benefit from that growth?

Today, as businesses undergo significant digital transformation, PostgreSQL is uniquely positioned to meet these new demands. This adaptability to the unique needs of modern enterprises is where PostgreSQL shows its true potential and where our company plays a key role in its growth and development, benefiting from its versatility and wide applicability in various technological domains.
- What is your PostgreSQL centered product?

As EDB, our PostgreSQL-centered product is a comprehensive suite of enterprise-grade tools and services designed to enhance and support PostgreSQL database management. This includes EDB Postgres Extended (PGE) and EDB Postgres Advanced Server (EPAS), which offer robust enhancements for PostgreSQL, catering to the diverse and evolving needs of enterprises. Our focus is on ensuring PostgreSQL's adaptability for mission-critical applications in regulated environments, providing advanced security features, performance optimization, and seamless cloud integration. Our products are aimed at empowering organizations to leverage PostgreSQL for a wide range of applications, enhancing its functionality while maintaining the core strengths of this leading open-source database.
- What is your company's mission?

Our mission enables enterprises everywhere to harness the full power of Postgres. We use technology to drive better business outcomes and solve our customer’s most complex data challenges. Whether on premises or in the cloud, we are empower customers with solutions for Oracle compatibility as well as high availability, reliability, scalability and security. Alongside a robust independent open source community, we have made Postgres an extraordinary database, superior to legacy proprietary databases and more universally applicable for developers than speciality databases.

- Which of your company's contributions to the PostgreSQL Project (code/community/conference) are you most proud of?

EDB is proud of our longstanding history of significant contributions to PostgreSQL, working alongside a rich and robust independent community. Earlier this year, we also made our Postgres training free and accessible to all, reinforcing our commitment to supporting the growth and success of Postgres in the long term. Our recent contributions to PostgreSQL 15, including the highly anticipated MERGE SQL command, highlight our commitment to enhancing PostgreSQL's capabilities. This command simplifies the migration process from legacy databases to PostgreSQL, making it more accessible for enterprises. PostgreSQL 15 also saw improvements in database security, backup and recovery options, and advanced logical replication capabilities, reinforcing its position as a leading open-source database. More recently, the EDB Postgres 16 Portfolio release introduced new tools to optimize compliance, performance, security, and Oracle compatibility, demonstrating our ongoing efforts to keep PostgreSQL at the forefront of technological innovation.
